New york liberty favored to win 2025 wNBA Championship
This Liberty (8-0 SU, 5-3 ATS) group hasn't budged much with the core three of Breanna Stewart, a top five point scorer, Sabrina Ionescu, one of the best three point shooters in the game, and Jonquel Jones all returning to the Big Apple. The reputation is upholding early in the season with the Liberty leading the league averaging 91.1 PPG, 5.4 blocks, 9.5 steals and shooting 47.8% from the field.
The defending champs were active during the offseason, trading Courtney Vandersloot in exchange for Connecticut's Natasha Cloud, whose 6.9 assists per game was the third-best mark in the league last season. Similar to Vandersloot, the 33-year-old is a playmaker, but a tad younger while also still managing 10 points so far this year. With minimal changes, Cloud's addition strengthening the team, and their start to the season, it’s clear why oddsmakers have them as favorites for the 2025 season.
